Since the Dawn of SlimE

The Kids’ Choice Awards is Nickelodeon’s biggest night of the year, where kids vote for their favorite movies, shows, and stars and someone is guaranteed to get slimed. For the voting site and promotional artwork, the goal was to turn something simple like casting a vote into something that felt like part of the big celebration.

The Challenge

Turn digital voting into something that felt loud and celebratory, not like filling out a form. The visuals had to carry the hype of the broadcast while staying clear and usable for kids jumping in on phones and desktops. It needed to feel big, bold, and unmistakably KCA.

My Role

I created campaign visuals across the KCA voting site and surrounding Nickelodeon platforms. That included designing games, key art, and nominee imagery that evolved during the live show. I worked onsite during the broadcast to keep the voting experience synced with real-time wins, surprises, and slime-filled moments.

The Result

The visuals helped turn the voting experience into part of the show itself. As winners were announced and slime hit the stage, the site carried that same momentum across digital platforms.

Across the 2021–2023 Kids’ Choice Awards, the work supported one of Nickelodeon’s biggest annual events and helped sustain fan participation beyond the broadcast, reinforcing KCA as a major brand moment each year.
